The children were given a sense of what life was like as a Roman soldier and took part in battle training. Jacob was brave enough to put on the body armour and kit weighing a massive 47kg! Most of us struggled to lift it!! Some of the children were able to dress up and act out different parts of life as a Roman.
The day inspired our next writing unit and we created some freeze frames based on the thoughts and feelings of a Roman soldier. The children had lots of fun imagining themselves in role. We have now completed fabulous diary entries based on this experience.
