Materials and their Properties
In our topic lessons this half term, we have been naming different materials and exploring their properties. We have found out why certain materials are used for different things for example glass is used for windows because it is transparent but we wouldn’t use it for a set of keys because it is fragile and they would break easily.
The tennis ball is rough.
The rope is bendy.
The sponge is squashy.
The glass is transparent.
The fabric is soft.
The fabric is opaque.
The fabric is stretchy.
The fabric is shiny.
The mirror is smooth.
We can squash, bend, twist, stretch and roll the playdough because it is soft.
