This term we have been learning about the formal elements of Art. There are 6 elements of Art and these consist of line, shape, tone, pattern, texture and colour. In our first lesson we explored pattern and shape. The children had to use bottle lids and other printing materials to create their own repeating patterns. They had to use both a light piece of paper and a dark piece of paper to see how the different backgrounds effected the colours that they chose.
