We are one foundation

Christmas is the season of giving and in 2020 it was more important than ever. 2020 was challenging for us all in many ways but, for some individuals and families in our community, it had left them facing further hardship and a bleak outlook on Christmas. 

At the Academy, we wanted to help ensure that people had access to a meal over the Christmas period. Therefore, we decided we were going to run a reverse calendar. The idea was that instead of receiving something, each day of advent, that we gave something instead. 

We had an overwhelming response from our local community and the final food donation produced awe and a few tears! All the food was donated to the 'We are one foundation' which works to provide support for people facing food poverty including the homeless, those in hostels, the elderly, and families in financial distress: Feeding those in need, for free, without prejudice. The donation stocked up their food larders and was a vital line of support for those in need. Furthermore, we were able to provide a monetary donation to help ensure that the amazing services, that they provide, could continue. 

We are so proud of our children, families, staff, and wider community for their support in living out our academy vision.
