Academic Mentor Vacancy

At Lisle Marsden Church of England Primary Academy, we provide additional targeted support to pupils who may be struggling with early reading and writing skills. These could be children in either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 who would benefit from regular high quality targeted intervention. Support is provided through 1:1 and small group tuition, utilising a range of phonic teaching and learning programmes.

 

As an Academic Mentor, you will be employed on a fixed term contract for two terms to deliver a tailored programme of support. This is a full-time role, but part-time will be considered for the right candidate.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding individual who has the relevant experience, commitment and drive and who is passionate about encouraging every child to reach their full potential within a supportive academic environment.

 

This opportunity may well appeal to candidates who wish to experience working in a school environment with a view to pursuing a career in education or to candidates who already have QTS but are looking for a change of direction. We welcome applications from colleagues who are determined to make a difference.

 

We are looking for Primary specialists in English, who can be deployed across the academy to provide targeted support where it is most needed.

 

The post is initially in place until the end of the academic year, ending 31st August 2025, with the possibility of an extension of contract for the following academic year.
